Located just south of the UAE and east of Yemen, Oman’s coast stretches along the Arabian sea and gulf of Oman. Hasik and the Hallaniyyat are located in the southern region of Oman known as Dhofar.
Driving 2.5hrs from Salalah through windy roads along the coast, over fallen cliffs and between rocky mountains, you will observe some spectacular sites. Beautiful beaches stretching between headlands and ideal shore fishing spots. Some of the beaches here are visited frequently by dolphins and are a popular diving destination. 

Our lodge is located in the fishing town of Hasik just 500m from the sea. The town consists of a fuel station, three mini-markets, four very simple restaurants and residential blocks. About 20 or so local donkeys have made Hasik their home and on rare occasions the friendly pai hyenas will make a visit. The coast line from Hasik south to Sadah and north to Ash Shuwaymiyyah is spectacular.

The first island known as Haskiyya is approximately 34km from the mainland. It’s followed by four more sequential islands, Sawdah, Al Hallaniyyah, Qibliyyah and Shoniz which together are known as the Khuriya Muriya islands, a rich environment for both marine life and seabirds alike.

The season is broken by the monsoon season known as the Khareef monsoon bringing in gusty winds at sea from mid May to mid September. In July and August the monsoon brings forth an abundance of rain which transforms the dry Salalah desert into an incredible landscape of spectacular greenery with an array of grazing camels and livestock. Overflowing wadis taking their fill from gushing waterfalls.This unique scenery is joined upon by the many visitors from the Arabian peninsula who take refuge from the summer heat and enjoy the coolness from the breezy mists in Salalah’s cooler period.
